This Privacy Policy explains how free-solar-calculator.com ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use our website. We built this tool to be usable without an account, and we collect as little data as possible to run it.

2. Information we collect
Information you enter into the calculators
You may enter values such as your monthly electricity bill, units consumed, roof area, appliance loads, city or state, loan amount, and tenure. This input is processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. It is not transmitted to our servers, is not stored on our servers, and is not linked to you.
Information we do not collect
- No account, name, phone number, or email address is required or requested.
- We do not use advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or lead-generation forms.
- We do not sell, rent, or share visitor data with solar installers, lenders, or third parties.
- We do not use session replay, keystroke recording, or cross-site tracking tools.
3. Cookies
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The only browser storage involved is:
- Essential server cookies — standard session cookies used by the web server to deliver pages securely. These contain no personal data and expire when you close your browser.
- Web app manifest — the manifest file allows the site to be installed as a progressive web app; it does not track you.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time; the calculator continues to work without them.
4. Third-party services
We load the Geist and Geist Mono typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com /fonts.gstatic.com). When your browser requests these files, Google receives technical data such as your IP address and user agent. Google's handling of that data is governed by Google's own privacy policy. Apart from fonts and your direct requests for our pages and static assets, the site makes no third-party network calls.

- To operate, maintain, and secure the website.
- To diagnose technical faults using aggregate, non-identifying server logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp, browser type) retained for a short period for security purposes.
- To improve the accuracy of calculations and content.
We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or automated decision-making.
6. Data retention
Calculator inputs are never stored by us. Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or aggregated. Nothing in this service requires us to keep a history of your calculations.
7. Your rights
Under applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not deliberately collect personal data, we are unlikely to hold any — but if you believe otherwise, contact us and we will verify and act on your request.
8. Children
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. We apply reasonable technical measures to protect the infrastructure hosting it. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, but the design of this service means there is no personal database of user details to breach.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
